Mentorship Program

"The mind is not a vessel that needs filling, but wood that needs igniting." — Plutarch.

The department of economics, Hindu college, organised a two-month-long interactive Mentorship Program for the second year students to help them get an insight into managing their college studies efficiently, giving them a peek into the different domains available after graduation, and improve inter-batch communication within the department. The program included six different domains, thereby covering a plethora of opportunities that students could opt for. These included:-

1. Academics

2. Masters in Economics

3. GRE and GMAT

4. Placement and internship preparation

5. MBA (India)

6. UPSC

Every domain consisted of third-year students as mentors, who possess a wealth of knowledge in their respective domains through a combination of individual experience and research, which served as a unique setting for the second year students to be able to gain an abundance of knowledge about the tricks, methods, procedures, requisites, and step-by-step processes, thereby serving as an integral aid for them to fulfil their respective aims.

The program included a 30-45 minute session covering one domain every week with mentors providing guidance and answering questions. The structure was devised to ensure the program isn’t a one-way monologue but an interactive discussion platform where students can interact freely and ask questions to quench the thirst of their inquisitive minds.

The robust initiative undertaken by the department helped students within the department get clarity, become efficient, and synergise their ideas in becoming the best in whatever they want to pursue in the future.
